Getting Most from Ads in Your Blog

If you have placed ads in your blog, then it clearly means you want to make some money from the it. There are many options to choose for the ad provider. Displaying ads alone doesn't make money. You will earn only if a visitor clicks on an ad. If you don't place ads in correct places, then it's useless for your blog to display ads. So I will tell you the places best for ads in a blog page.

Before I start the main topic. I would also like to raise another topic. Which type of ads are better? Text ads or Image ads ?

If you think deeply, you will get the answer yourself. The text ads are better than image ads.

Why?

Because in text ads, many ads are displayed in one place. Bigger the area for ads, more text ads can be placed in it. So, if the area has many ads, then the probability that the visitor will find something useful increases, and the chances of visitor clicking in it increases. This is just opposite in case of image ads. Although they look more beautiful, but in all of the assigned area, only one image will be displayed. Many people have also said that they don't like a page full of image ads, because it makes the page to take more time to load. It's just my suggestion, it's ultimately your decision which to implement in your blog. Now back to main topic.

Before placing ads in the page. Ask two questions to yourself:

1) Is the ad visible to the visitor ?

2) Do a normal user ever brings his/her cursor to this part of the page ?

Based on these two questions, you can easily find out the required positions of ads in your blog. For example, you can place the ad in these positions:

1) After the search box of you page/blog:

It may be possible that the thing which a visitor was about to search in your blog is displayed in an ad. Like, your blog is about reviews of mobile phones. A user wants to know the price of a specific phone and before searching about it in your blog, it sees an ad displaying same phone and offers.

2) After end of a post:

If user is interested in reading the comments of your post, then he/she will have to go through the ad before reaching the comments section thus increasing its visibility.

3) In the side bar, where a site map/ index of topics is present:

Again, its possible that a closely related thing a user is searching in the index is found in the displayed ad.

4) At the end of page:

If you want, you can place a big ad at the bottom of your page to improve its visibility.

The places can vary with the number of ads allowed to be displayed, as well as the arrangement of page.
